Chase This Light is the sixth studio album by American alternative rock band Jimmy Eat World, released on October 16, 2007 through Interscope. The album was executive produced by Butch Vig.
The album debuted at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 62,000 copies in its first week.[9] It also sold 78,000 worldwide. As of July 2008, the album has sold approximately 320,000 copies worldwide. Additionally, as of September 2010, the album has sold 225,000 copies in the US.

The song "Carry You" originated as a track from Jim Adkins' side project Go Big Casino. Jimmy Eat World has recorded other Go Big Casino songs previously like "Hear You Me", "My Sundown", and "12.23.95".
"Big Casino", the first single from the album, was released September 24, 2007 for radio airplay. "Always Be" began airing on various radio channels on December 3, 2007, and the video premiered at Total Request Live on January 30, 2008.

The song "Electable (Give It Up)" was used in the video game Burnout Paradise. The songs "Big Casino" and "Here it Goes" were used in the 2007-2008 college basketball season. The song "Gotta Be Somebody's Blues" was used in an episode of One Tree Hill. The title track "Chase This Light" is currently being used in station promos for US cable network TNT, predominantly The Closer.
Several songs from the album, including "Big Casino", "Feeling Lucky" and "Always Be", are featured as part of ESPN's college basketball intro/outro theme music.
The Instrumental version of "Always Be" is featured on Tiger Woods PGA Golf 2009 produced by EA Sports.
